The Voice literally just ended but suddenly it's back and BETTER THAN EVER!! or so we are promised. This is basically a way to intimidate American Idol off the stage and say that there is a new reigning singing competition that is just as exhausting to watch (2 days a week? who has time for that?) but still not really cranking out stars (come on, American Idol, you should have stopped after Carrie Underwood).
So Cee Lo and Xtina are out, but just kidding they'll be back next season, they just need to make some music in the meantime to prove that they aren't judges on a TV show because their music career is dead. To replace them and hopefully compete with the excitement American Idol spawned with the Mariah-Nicki feud (pure publicity genius), in come Shakira, who I am sure has a lot of advice about wearing leather and doing weird dance moves with your hips, and Usher, who basically made Justin Bieber happen so I'm expecting him to have this in the bag.
Exciting news? We will see. I love those chairs, but is there really any more untapped talent left in America? Didn't everyone who thought they could sing already try out for American Idol or The Voice Seasons 1-3 or The X-Factor or America's Got Talent or Making the Band or my favorite show of all times, The Pussycat Dolls Present: the Search for the Next Doll?
Check out the promo for yourself. Will you watch The Voice? Do you think Shakira and Usher will make good mentors and add some spice to the show?
