Ryan Gosling is breaking my heart and taking a break from acting. Time to get out the pint of cookie dough ice cream, watch The Notebook, and cry.
Apparently he needs to take a step back to become a better actor. He said in an interview with The Associated Press:
He has The Place Beyond the Pines opening March 29, Only God Forgives in May, and his directorial debut in 2014 with How to Catch a Monster and then it's dunzo for a while. He says he needs a break as much as the audience needs a break from him. Say what? When did we say that? There are other actors who need to take a break (hmmm Lindsay Lohan? Kristen Stewart? Maybe Nicholas Cage?) but not Ryan Gosling. Why, god, why?!
So is Ryan Gosling now going to read "War and Peace" and write poetry in family-owned cafes? Will he go on tour with The Backstreet Boys? Will he teach Film classes at NYU? Will he design a menswear collection for JCPenney? Maybe the best is yet to come.
In the meantime he'll still appear in "Hey girl" (and in my dreams.)
