Justin Timberlake's new album The 20/20 Experience doesn't drop until Tuesday, but it is available now free to stream on iTunes. Guys, JT is back!!
I cannot stop listening to his song “Mirrors.” It’s literally been on repeat for the last two hours. It’s hard to believe that this is only his third album since we all almost died when 'NSYNC broke up. This follows his second album FutureSex/LoveSounds in 2006 that brought us “SexyBack” and “What Goes Around... Comes Around," pretty much the best songs of the decade (yeah, I said that) so you know The 20/20 Experience is going to blow your mindhole.
Since FutureSex/LoveSounds, he provided vocals for some hits such as “4 Minutes” by Madonna and “Carry Out” by Timbaland (who produced both FutureSex/LoveSounds and The 20/20 Experience.) Meanwhile he got married to Jessica Biel, launched a clothing line (obvi,) got seriously into golfing, oh, and did his whole “I’m an actor” thing in The Social Network and Friends with Benefits.
The gem of his hiatus was of course, his contribution to the Lonely Island shorts for SNL, bringing us the beloved D*ck in a Box, Motherlover, and 3-Way (The Golden Rule). He should really just pull a Beyoncé and make a whole album for his D*ck in a Box alter ego, I would buy that shit. While he can sort of act (well better than most singers-turned-actors,) I am glad he is refocusing his energy into music.
You've probably already heard his single “Suit &” Tie” featuring Jay-Z which JT released on January 14 and peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is in the new commercial for Bud Light, and oh yeah, JT is also the new creative director for Bud Light, NBD. His second single “Mirrors” was released digitally on Februrary 11 and he performed it for the first time at the Brit awards the following week, causing it to reach #1 on the UK Singles Chart. he performed both songs on Saturday Night Live this part weekend, with some help from his buddy Jay-Z.
So proud of you JT!
