Hieroglyph, An Ancient Egyptian Adventure

The action-adventure Hieroglyph has been ordered for a 13-episode straight to series by Fox.

This high concept drama is set in the ancient Egypt land where reality and fantasy coexist.  It follows a thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharoah. During his new journey, he finds himself trying to navigate the palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies, and even a few divine sorcerers. (Oh, the land of fantasy!)

According to Fox Chairman of Entertainment Kevin Reilly, they wanted a show about sex, deceit, intrigue in the court, and fantastical goings-on. We can’t think of a better suited place than Egypt.

Production is set to begin early next year. Pacific Rim’s Travis Beacham, writer and executive producer, will work alongside Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope of New Girl and Miguel Sapochnik from Fringe, who will also direct the first premiere episode and serve as executive producer.
